Project ReachABLE

Helping people with disabilities save for the future.

ABLE accounts can help you save for what matters

An ABLE account is a savings account for eligible people whose disability began before age 46. It can help you save money for everyday expenses, including rent, buying a home, transportation, education, and medical bills, while helping you plan for the future!

You can save money without losing your Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Medicaid benefits, subject to certain rules and limits.

Would you like to learn more about ABLE accounts and how to get started? Project ReachABLE will make it easier to find trusted information, understand your options, and take the next step toward opening an account.

About Project ReachABLE

Project ReachABLE is a three-year national initiative led by Dr. Michelle Yin, in partnership with TransCen, Inc., a national nonprofit focused on improving opportunities for people with disabilities.

The project is funded by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. People with disabilities, including self-advocates, will help guide the project through a National ABLE Advisory Group. Their perspectives will help shape the tools, resources, and information we develop.
